Macro Economics
The largest supplier of Sandalwood in the world was India. The 21st century saw a pinnacle to point blank slide in Indian Sandalwood Export Industry.

However, the demand for Sandalwood has only been increasing in the world Market. A quick analysis of this supply-demand gap showed that the Indian Export quantity has dropped because India is running out of Naturally Grown Sandal .

This situation raised red flags with the government and hence the Govt. of India came out with policies facilitating growth of Sandal in private land. The green flag for growing Sandalwood in Private Land came out as policy amendments in the Forest Act and Sandalwood Act[2001] and a G.O “The Tamilnadu Sandalwood on Patta Land Rules 2008 ” (G.O.Ms.No.140 Environment and Forest (FR4), 27th November 2008.) wherein the owner of land shall be the absolute owner of sandalwood as per the Amended Acts. Which was released by the Government of Tamilnadu.

These milestones have helped Several Farmers and Private Sectors come forward to cultivate Sandalwood in their premises.

Organic Gold (Sandalwood)
The sandalwood Tree, also called as the Royal Indian Tree is Significant for its fragrance and medicinal value. The South Indian climate with temperature ranging from 20’c to 55’c is highly favorable for its cultivation. Proper irrigation and optimum sprinkling of fertilizers will accelerate the growth of the trees.

These ideal conditions ensure that the saplings mature twice as fast as naturally grown Sandalwood without any compromise in quality . The Southern States of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh have been gifted with this ideal climate.

It has been observed that in Tamil Nadu sandalwood trees are distributed due to natural environment mostly in the Eastern Ghats ranging from Vellore district in the Northeast of Tamil Nadu to the Nilgiris in the west and our project location comes under this belt.

Sandalwood is the only organic commodity whose value has grown high in a decade.
